Family: Cichlidae, Order: Perciformes (perch-likes), Class: Actinopterygii (ray-finned fishes), Genus and Species: Sarotherodon galilaeus galilaeus. Common Name: Mango Tilapia. Referred to as "Saint Peter's Fish" and served as a tasty entree by Galilee restaurants.
Darker blue fish is male and lighter blue is female of the species. Distribution: Africa and Eurasia: Jordan system, especially in lakes; coastal rivers of Israel.
