We believe that the key to developing a clear and unified understanding of the Bible is a systematic approach to its study. Interpretive confusion is the result of studying the Bible with a disregard for the guidelines God established for our benefit. Authors always intend for their books to be interpreted literally unless they instruct otherwise. The same is true of the Bible’s Author. A literal reading of the Bible naturally leads one to an understanding that God has progressively and incrementally revealed Himself throughout history.

Grace through faith has always been God’s unchanging basis for man’s salvation. But clearly, God’s requirements governing His relationship with individuals have changed throughout the ages. These ‘ages’ are known as dispensations. There are two major words in the Greek language from which the concept of dispensations comes: the first (e.g., Eph 1:10) is oikonomia, meaning "to manage, to regulate, to administer, to plan." The second Greek word (e.g., Col 1:26) is aion meaning "age" which emphasizes the dispensation in its element of time. The dispensations lie at the core of our systematic approach to Bible study. Our prayer is that after studying these lessons, you will have a clear understanding of the importance of a dispensational approach to the Scriptures and that you will adopt its rules to your own study and teaching opportunities.

The Church is at a crossroads. Our pastors and teachers should be expected to build their ministries upon the rock of a literal interpretive foundation. The only other alternative is the shifting sand of an allegorical or ‘reformed’ approach. This unstable approach leads to so many of the unbiblical teachings that do damage to the Body of Messiah such as "Replacement Theology" and "Two-House" heresies.
